 제 6강- 재테크에 관한 대화

 

정욱:  Hey, what are you watching? Your eyes are blood-shot.
경훈:  Can’t you see? I'm day-trading, so don't bother me.
정욱:  Oh my God! Are you investing in the stock market? I bet you only lose money
           because of the market conditions. Do you know Mr. Hyunsoo Lee in the
           marketing department? He borrowed 10 million won from the bank and invested
           all of it in the stock market. In only a month, he  blew it. And he is not the only
           person. I know several people in debt now because they  invested in  stocks.
           You should stop now before it's too late. It's really hard to make money by
           investing in stocks. Even experts are losing money.

경훈:  I have heard about Hyunsoo Lee, and I know investing in stocks is very risky
          right now, but I'm only putting one million won into the market, not ten million
          won, just to see what it's like. And I'm not like him anyway. I did a lot of
          research and read every book I know on “how to invest.”

정욱: Of course you may have more information than he did, but we can never be sure
          of the future. What stocks do you have?

경훈:  I'm into high-tech and dot com companies. (pointing at the monitor) Wait, look at
          this graph!  That's what I bought. It hit a new high today! See? What did I say? I'm

          not like him.

정욱: Hmm, then how much money did you make?

경훈:  Not that much, I should've bought more shares. If my investment portfolio keeps
          growing at the same rate, I think I can retire when I'm 40 years old. Let’s check my
          other stocks, too.  Umm, this one lost 8% since I bought it. Okay, then, sell 10
          shares of Nemo and buy 20 shares of Semo.

정욱:  Wait, the Kosdaq is plummeting! The KSE is even worse and you want to buy

          more stocks in another company?

경훈:  The riskier the investment, the higher the possible return.

 

(Next Day)

정욱:  Hey, did you read today's newspaper? The stock market is down again. Kosdaq
          lost another 20 points yesterday afternoon.

경훈: Yes, I did. I wonder how the market is doing today. Oh no, I knew the market
          was down, but this is worse than I thought.
정욱:  See? I told you, give it up before it gets too late.
경훈:  I guess you were right. 

 

 해설보기 

 

 

 정욱:  지금 뭘 보고 있는 거야? 눈은 시뻘개 가지고.
 경훈:  보면 몰라? 지금 데이 트레이딩 하고 있잖아. 그러니까 방해 하지마.

 정욱:  이런. 주식 시장에 돈을 투자 했단 말이야? 내가 장담하지만 요즘 같을 때는 돈을 엄청 잃기만

            할 뿐이야. 마케팅 부서의 이 현수 알아? 그 사람 은행에서 천 만원을 대출 받아서 그걸로 주식

            투자를 했는데 딱 한달만에 몽땅 잃어 버렸잖아. 그런 게  어디 그 사람뿐 인가. 내가 주식

            투자로 빚진 사람들  여럿 봤어. 그러니까 자네도 주식에서 손을 떼. 그걸로 돈 벌기 정말 어렵다.  

            전문가들도 돈을 잃고 있다는데.

 경훈:  나도 이 현수 씨에 대해서 들었어. 그리고 주식 투자가 엄청나게 위험 부담이 있다는 것도 알아.

            근데, 천만원이나 투자하는 것도 아니고 그냥 한 100만원 정도만 투자하는 거야. 어떤 건지

            보려고. 게다가 난 이 현수 씨 같지는 않아.  열심히 조사하고 '주식 투자 하는 법'에 관한

           책들은 모조리 다 읽었어.

 정욱:  뭐, 물론 지식은 그 사람보다 더 많이 갖고 있겠지, 하지만 어떻게 될지는  아무도 장담할 수 없는            거야. 어떤 회사 주식들을 갖고 있는데?

 경훈:  난 하이테크랑 닷 컴 기업들 주식을 주로 사 (모니터를 가리키며) 잠깐, 이 그래 프좀봐!.  

           이거 내가 산 주식이거든. 오늘 상쳤네! 것 봐, 내가 뭐랬어. 난 그  사람하고는 다르다니까.

 정욱:  흠, 그럼 얼마나 번 건데?

 경훈:  얼마 안돼. 아깝다, 좀 더 많이 사 두는 건데. 만약 내가 산 주식들이 이 비율로 올라간다면,

           40 세에는 은퇴해도 되겠는걸. 그럼, 다른 것도 한 번 볼까. 음, 이건 8%나 내렸네. 그럼 네모 주식

           10 주를 팔고 세모 주식 20주를 사야겠다.

 정욱:  잠깐, 기다려봐. 지금 코스닥이 폭락하고 있잖아. 거래소 시장은 더 심하고.
           지금 새로운 주식을 또 산단 말이야?

 경훈:  위험 부담이 많을수록 이익도 많은 법이야.

 
(다음 날)
 정욱:  이봐, 오늘 신문 봤어? 주식이 다시 폭락 했다는 거? 코스닥이 어제 오후에 20 포인트나 또  

           떨어졌다던데.

 경훈:  응, 보기는 봤는데. 그럼 오늘 주식 시장이 어떤지 한 번 볼까? 이런, 시장이 안 좋다는 것은 알고

           있었지만, 내가 생각한 거 보다 더 심한 것 같네.

 정욱:  것봐, 내가 뭐랬어. 이제 그만 포기해, 더 늦기 전에.

 경훈:  네 말이 맞는 것 같다.
