 제 18강 -  외국 손님 마중하러 가기

 

동엽  :  Excuse me, are you Kevin Clain?

Kevin :  Yes, I am. Are you with Lara Company?

동엽  :  Yes, and nice to meet you. My name is Dong-Yup Shim.
             How was the trip? Was it uncomfortable at all, and was the
             food okay?

Kevin :  No, it was quite all right. Actually, I was sleeping during the entire
             flight so Ididn’t find it uncomfortable at all. By the way, where
             is the luggage claim? I checked in two pieces of luggage.

동엽  :  We have to go downstairs. I think they will have arrived by now.
             Is this your first visit to Korea?

Kevin :  Actually this is my second. My first time here was ten years ago,
             so this actually feels like it’s my first time here. Korea has changed
             a lot in the last ten years.

동엽  :  How long will you stay here this time?

Kevin :  About three days, but it depends on the project that I’m going to
             be involved in. Ah, there’s one of my bags.

동엽  :  I’ll help you. I arranged a car for you. Please come this way.

Kevin :  Did you come with a companion?

동엽  :  Yes, he is waiting in the car. There he is. Hey, come give us a hand.

             This is my co-worker, Sang-Min Lee. He will pick you up
             tomorrow  morning.

상민  :  Hello, my name is Sang-Min Lee. I’m in the Sales department.
             Glad to meet you.

Kevin :  Pleased to meet you.

동엽  :  Sang-Min, would you please open the trunk? I have to put
             his luggage in. Kevin, go ahead  and get in the backseat.

Kevin :  Okay. Thank you.

동엽  :  We reserved a room at the Holten hotel for you. We asked them for
             a room with a nice view,  but we are not sure whether or not you’ll
             like it. Aren’t you cold? Sang-Min, would you please  turn on the heater?

상민  :  No problem. It will take around thirty minutes to get to the Holten.
             You must be really tired, right? Here’s your itinerary for tomorrow.
             I’ll pick you up at 8 am tomorrow morning, so you don’t have to
             worry about getting to our office. (thirty minutes later) Here we are.
             Here is the Holten Hotel

 동엽  :  실례하지만, 혹시 Kevin Clain씨 아니십니까?
 Kevin : 네, 맞습니다. 혹시 'Lara' 회사에서 나오셨습니까?
 동엽  :  네, 반갑습니다. 심 동엽이라고 합니다. 여행은 어떠셨습니까? 불편하다거나
              음식이 맘에 안 들거나 하지는 않으셨습니까?
 Kevin : 아뇨, 괜찮던데요. 게다가 오는 길에 계속 잠만 자서, 불편한 줄로 몰랐어요.
               아 그런데 짐 찾는데는 어디죠? 수트 케이스를 두 개 부쳤는데요
 동엽  :  아, 아래층으로 내려가야 합니다. 지금쯤 짐이 도착했을 것 같은데요.
              한국에는 처음 방문 하시는 건가요?
 Kevin : 사실 두 번째인데요, 첫번 째는 10년 전에 아주 짧게 방문한 거라서 이번이
              처음인거나 마찬가지죠. 한국이 지난 10년간 너무 많이 변해서요.
  동엽  : 이번에는 얼마나 계실 건가요?
 Kevin : 삼일가량이요. 하지만 프로젝트에 따라 조금 달라질 수 있을 것 같은데요.
               아, 저기 제 가방이 있네요.
 동엽  :  도와 드릴께요. 자, 차가 대기하고 있습니다. 이 쪽으로 오시죠.
 Kevin : 동행이 있으신가봐요?
 동엽  :  네, 차에서 기다리고 있습니다. 저기 있네요. 어이, 이리 와서 좀 도와줘! 자,
              이 쪽은 같은 회사에 근무하는 이 상민 씨입니다. 이 분이 내일 아침 당신을

           모시러 갈 거예요.
상민 :  안녕하세요, 영업부의 이 상민입니다. 반갑습니다.
Kevin :반갑습니다.
동엽  : 상민씨, 트렁크 좀 열어 주실래요? 짐을 넣어야 하거든요. Kevin씨, 뒷 좌석에 타시죠.
Kevin :네, 감사합니다.
동엽  : 저희가 홀튼 호텔에 방을 잡아 두었습니다. 전망 좋은 방으로 달라고 했는데,
            맘에 드실  지 모르겠네요. 좀 춥지 않으세요? 상민씨, 히터 좀 틀어줄래요?
상민  : 네, 알겠습니다. 홀튼 호텔까지는 한 30분 가량 걸릴 겁니다. 많이 피곤하시죠?
            이게 내일의 일정표인데요, 제가 내일 아침 8시까지 모시러 갈 테니, 저희

            회사까지 오시는 것은 걱정하지 않으셔도 됩니다 (30 분 후) 다 왔습니다,
            여기가 홀튼 호텔입니다.
